Kinda Cold!

This is a very brave pair of bluebirds that came out this morning in temperatures around 25 degrees. Aren't they cute!

We are huddled down in the trailer keeping warm and doing a lot of computer work. We closed on the land refi this week and are at a better interest rate with the ability to separate out the 2 acres where the house will sit for a separate mortgage loan. With the holidays, we lost about a month of progress because critical people were on vacation. :( I'm glad everyone is back and we can get on with our construction. We should hear this week about a closing. No one seems to have any sense of urgency but us! Sometimes this is frustrating . . .

I called Mr. Cottle this week about the completion of the iron door for the pantry. He has been sick and now the weather is so cold he can't work outside. Sooooo, more waiting.

To help with patience, and look forward to spring - we have planted all our trees! We planted 20 live oaks, 10 chinese pistachio, 5 red oaks, 5 burr oaks, six pecan trees and 9 peach trees. I also put in about 50 strawberry plants in the garden and covered them with straw. After danger of frost has passed, I will put in asparagus, potatoes and onions. Can't wait!

More later from the "snugglers" in Honey Grove :)
