Rebar and plumbing

This took an all day effort by the plumber to install all pipes and lines for our plumbing. It was fascinating to watch - the weather cooperated - it was a sunny day with a little breeze. We walked all around the plan after they left for the day and pointed out to each other where everything will be located. A sink here, a toilet there, the outside spigot, etc., etc. What fun!!!!!

Then, yesterday, the cement contractor returned with his crew and filled in here and there to make sure the surface is perfectly level for the pouring of the foundation tomorrow. They are here today to install the rebar in preparation for tomorrow. I will definitely have the video of tomorrow and the cement trucks. Can't wait!

We brought home the iron door (for the pantry)last week and I'm getting ready to brush off the rust that has accumulated through the months the welder was working on it. I was going to paint it black, but he suggested just brushing off the rust and spraying on Varalene, to seal it and keep the "rustic" look. Sounds good to me. It's very, very heavy. So we are glad to have it here so when they start framing, they can make sure the door jam can support it. We were also going to bring home the heavy front door, but after we went to the door store to pick it up, we realized they had removed all the boxing in order to stain it and it is not protected to travel. So, back to the drawing board for Skip to figure out how we can transport it back on our trailer. The door frame is in a whole piece - measuring 6' by 6' in an arch. The two doors are in separate pieces. He is pouring over his planning pad to design a safe way to transport. We need that door here as well for the framing.

So tomorrow the foundation is poured. We are thrilled and excited these days. Forgive the giddy behavior - so much to be thankful for - Love to all!
